Just a Courteous Elderly Jogger

Ever since my shift changed from 10 pm - 7 am to 8 pm to 5 am, I've been walking all the way from my workplace to the mall. It is where I usually get a ride home. Along the way, it somehow has been a routine now that there would be an elderly jogger that would greet me "good morning". It's like every time I pass by the central bank, I would meet him, and I am obligated to say "good morning" and smile. It's like we're already expecting to see each other in these morning walks. It's like we're already getting used to seeing each other and our morning would not be the same if the other doesn't see the other. It's like if someone somehow suddenly doesn't show up, the other would worry. Well, there was one morning I didn't see him. Maybe it was his day off from jogging or something. Anyway, I've seen a few regular shits from my morning walks — these two homeless people by the temple that I expect to be there with their cart of junk, this employee sweeping the outside their clinic before it opens, or even this street sweeper by the mansion who clears up the fallen flowers from the red blossoming tree.
